The Dungeons & Dragons Death-Cult – ’60 Minutes’ Expose
Folks you may have heard about the dangers posed to Christian America by the ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ addicts. At STR we’ve stepped-up and proven the dangers that ‘D&D’ addiction can have, by destroying children, their families, and all their friends and loved ones through it’s subliminal Satanist messages. But what a lot of people don’t know is that ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ has been trying to harm our children for a long time now. In fact this early ’60 Minutes’ report on the dangers of fantasy gaming and ‘D&D’ went a long way in showing the world how morally corrupting this ‘game’ can be.
60 Minutes D&D Expose (part 1): in this 1985 shocker, the investigative journalist television show ’60 Minutes’ takes on and exposes the hard facts about the ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ death cult.
Did the ’60 Minutes’ show accomplish what it set out to? Yes, there’s no doubt that ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ is a dangerous game chock-full of subliminal messages designed to destroy the moral sanctity of the Christian family. Filled with demons, and dragons, and dragon-demons and drugs and role and gender-swapping, ‘D&D’ is a moral cesspit that is essentially a gateway straight to Hell.
60 Minutes D&D Expose (part 2): not only did ’60 Minutes’ prove the disturbing behavior ‘D&D’ addicts have, they were able to convert several members of the D&D gang to Christianity after showing them the error of their ways.
At STR we found that of the 12 teenagers who were filmed in this show playing ‘D&D’ 5 have since murdered people and are serving indefinite sentences, 3 are addicted to marihuana and are living as junkies on the streets, another 3 have have sex-change operations and only 1 (who repented and became a Christian) managed to find work and successfully complete high school. Just because this televised program is from 1985 doesn’t mean it’s not completely pertinent today: all the same terrible scenarios mentioned in this program are happening across America right now. If you or your loved ones play Dungeons & dragons do the right thing, just stop participating and burn all your ‘monster manuals’. Better yet, next time your friends want to play ‘D&D’ show-up but bring the only ‘manual’ they’ll ever need to read: the Bible!

Have you ever even played Dungeons and Dragons? I would invite you to take a closer look at what the game is actually about. Sure, the game has demons and devils in it, but so does the Bible. Did you like Lord of the Rings? Guess what? It also has Demons, Devils, and Dragons. It also has a power evil source (satan?) trying to rule and conquer Middle Earth. Not a fan of Lord of the Rings? Alright, how about the Chronicles of Narnia? It has a Witch Queen, Warlocks, Devils, and so forth. It also deals with magic and satanic rituals. Oh yea, it was also written by a Christian named C.S. Lewis. Are you going to condemn him too for even thinking up such creatures? Then why condemn the people who like to role play? Nine times out of ten, the ultimate goal of D&D is to defeat some kind evil. If you had done a bit more research, you’d find that the “60 Minutes” report that you watched has been discredited numerous times as being extremely biased and fallacious. The group of players on that program do not, in any way, represent D&D players as a whole. Adolf Hitler was a Christian but people don’t think about him when you mention Christianity because he was an incredible minority compared to the vast majority of Christians that are actually good people. The same thing happened here. I’ve played D&D for years and guess what? No one I know has the slightest urge to kill anyone and none of them are addicted to pot, meth, heroine, or crack. “60 Minutes” found a group of players that were on the fringe of what is normal for humanity and decided to blame it solely on D&D. This is completely idiotic. Would you say Hitler’s sole motivation for killing millions of people was because “God told him to”? Of course not, but he still did and he still professed to be one. Just think about things before you decided to post them on the internet for all the world to see.

Dark Heresy is something I can only recommend. A rich dark fantasy/SciFi background thanks to the already established Warhammer 40.000 universe, broad spectrums both for character creation and evolution as well as possible scenarios and fights that are short, fun and vicious and deadly as hell, as well as very rewarding to those that actually fight with a good plan in mind. (Bringing some heavy firepower might not be a bad idea, either.)

I’m sorry, but how much research did you put into this? You have to use more than a ’60 Minute’ video from 1985 to make a valid point. Perhaps you didn’t go to college – if you had, your professors would’ve taught you that making a essay on something true requires far more things that what you’ve thrown up on your reading.
If you really want to know how D&D effects people, you would have to, at least, create or find a study that involves several hundred D&D players and different sessions and read all of the D&D books that exist to find the specific content that you’re fighting against. I would also recommend interviewing several D&D players and seeing how they react to everyday situations. Then, using all of that information, you can make and argument based on your hypothesis.
One case of D&D players murdering others does not prove your point as well as you think because that is a very tiny faction of the D&D players. The next time you want to talk about the evils of the world, do your research properly.

The “Research” you have done is not valid, because there is only one test done with a bias source, designed to provoke a reaction. Scientific method shows us that a true test can only be done in controlled circumstances, and it has to be done on a massive scale to prove anything. You want to prove it’s evil and causes people to kill themselves? Take a look at all of the people who play today, and run a cross-sample of them. The results will prove you horribly wrong.

This somewhat reminds me of the knee-jerk reactions people had to metal and rock music (playing your albums backwards anyone?) and how stupid a panic that was in retrospect (excuse me for pointing out the obvious but what band wants their audience dead? ‘I’m sick of all the money and fame! No, DnD is not going to twist and corrupt children into lives of murder, crime and drugs (if anything, isn’t the stereotypical DnD nerd actually to weak and girly to do that?), in fact, it is possible for a party to consist of pure, virtuous (Christian) knights whose quest is to rid the world of evil and Satan (but then again, Doom was about a man walking into Hell to slay demons and damned souls yet there were Christians who were outraged at that too, surely you should have loved a game like Doom, you oppose Satan and defeat the creatures of Hell).
I do not fault the parents who were worried about the ‘evil, scary DnD’ when the report posted above came out (they were told something would harm their kids, they acted accordingly, it’s what any self-respecting parent would do) but I do fault the people who made the report, it preys on the fears of good parents out there by falsely telling them something will hurt their children (lying to parents and manipulating them for publicity).
Parents reading this, what would you prefer your children to be doing?

on the loosely related topic of magic. a great number of people hate and condemn it, but if you give it some thought, you’d realize its not so bad. you say that god created heaven, earth, and all the loathsome creatures that inhabit it, including but certainly not limited to you filthy humans, with his divine power. what then is divine power if not magic? i know for certain that magic can be used to do things that are considered evil. but the thing itself is not. look not at the idea, but at the failed creations that would use it as such before you cast such an unintelligent accusations.

Okay, I don’t play D&D, but I do role play with BESM and Star Wars Westend and have a lot of fun. Role playing brings together friends, helps expand your imagination, and makes you actually use your brain to think outside the box to find creative solutions.
None of the people in my group are demon worshipers or atheists, we don’t smoke or take recreational drugs, we all attend services on a regular bases and are able to get along with and love one another even though we have different beliefs.
You shouldn’t be so judgmental towards others without even knowing the people or the subject you condemn.
Oh, I love dungeons and dragons! Me and my friends used to meet up and play fantasy games all through high school! When DnD died down, we turned to Magic: The Gathering, which didn’t last as long. After Magic, we played Yu-gi-oh for a good year, and then grade twelve was dominated by the World of Warcraft Trading card game and League of Legends video game. As it stands right now, the fantasy game I’m playing is The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, in which worshiping the god Talos has been banned by the Aldmeri Dominion and their White Gold Concordat. As far as I’m concerned, that’s okay, I’m more a fan of Akatosh, the Dragon God, anyways. And when it comes to Daedra, don’t even get me started! Everyone will tell you that Mehrunes Dagon is a bad Daedra to serve, but the dark powers he bestows are way too useful to overlook while playing an assassin build!
So yeah, go do an article about Skyrim! I bet you’ll have too much fun and you’ll end up overlooking all the “satanism” and stuff.
