Greek Priest Terrorist Thwarted in Florida
Hello America, if you’ve been reading the news you’ve doubtless heard about the terrorist attack that was thwarted recently in Miami by Hero Jasen D. Bruce. Mr. Bruce, a Marine reservist who works in a pharmacy, was violently confronted by a terrorist as he was washing his car, forcing Mr. Bruce to defend himself from the terrorist using only his bare hands and a tire-iron. While it turned out to be a false alarm and the terrorist was a visiting greek orthodox priest asking for directions, that still doesn’t mean the priest should be let off the hook. Predictably the liberal media have tried to paint it as an overreaction by Mr. Bruce when the reality is he was just doing his job as a patriot and defender of Freedom. To all you liberals get it through your heads: America is #1, always and forever, and with a concerned and educated citizenry like Jasen Bruce we will never let terrorists hurt us overseas or at home again!

The liberal media brought out it’s usual chumps to give commentary: Mike Marilopoulopoulis from St. Nicholas parish said he was ‘horrified’ and long-time resident Nancy Millipasillidoulis said it was ‘unthinkable’ such a thing could have happened. With last names like that, just guess which side they’re on. Remember America: you’re either with us, or you’re with the terrorists. Which begs the question: was a tire-iron enough for Jasen Bruce to protect himself? As Christians we can all agree that the answer is: no way! While here at STR we would never advocate violence of any kind, it’s pretty clear Mr. Bruce should have been carrying some kind of semi-automatic firearm, maybe a full-auto machinegun.
“Bruce was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and released after posting $7,500 bail. His attorney, Jeffrey Brown, said his client was only trying to protect himself.” Bruce also accused the priest of “being a robber, terrorist and molester“. Look, if you’re a hairy dirty darky and you start groping and grabbing at a Marine, mumbling in some pycho-babble language, why would you be amazed at the Rambo-style ass-kicking you get? Don’t think because you’re a souvlaki-bandit that you’re going to get away with it here in America. The priest Maniacis, who also teaches ethics at college, reportedly had prayed for Mr. Bruce and asked for his forgiveness from God and was trying to downplay the incident saying “he doesn’t want the ministry to be scandalized.” You call that a ‘Christian’? He’s still a criminal suspect in my book. Just seeing how Jasen Bruce handled himself proves to me who the real man was. Let’s keep America strong: even if Mr. Bruce might have had a slip in his judgment, we can’t let suspicious behavior go unreported, any more than a car can be allowed to drive through a roadblock in Iraq without getting brought to a halt by gunfire. We’re fighting a war, the enemy could be anywhere. It’s the way it is, and it’s vigilance by every citizen that keeps this country the freest and most democratic in the world.

Hi – Of course, if you eat Tzatziki not in Greece, you can get troubles with your stomach and bowel. The reasons are: Firstly, in Greece they just use absolutely fresh foodstuff and an other reason is, most of the non-Greek cooks use too much garlic and old bad oil. This makes me sick as well. Tzatziki I eat in Greece only, they know, how to make it right and most important is: Just fresh yoghurt, fresh herbs and cucumber from the garden, cold pressed olive oil and fresh garlic. I eat Tzatziki by my aunt in Rhodos only. Originally born in Greece, but live and work in Vienna Austria since 3 decades. Sometimes I spend my vacation in Greece. In the late 70ies I worked in Crete for 1-2 years only. I remember, in Greece I met a lot of different US Americans, tourists, hippies and soldiers, cause there is a US military base on the Greek island Crete. It was the cold war, this was the reason, why the US Army was very present in this area.
In different newspapers (like Foxnews, Miamiherald, Tampabay……) I read about this case in Florida (between Jasen Bruce and the priest A. Marakis from Crete, Greece.) I mean, in this particular case there is not much difference between right and left news. But I can imagine, what actually happend. Both are not old, A. Marakis is 29 yo and J.Bruce is a bit younger.
We still remember, the real terrorists, like these 911 hijackers lived in the States for over 1 year, and were clear of suspicion. All of them had short hair, some spoke very good English, they had money and all of them were dressed in nice clothes. If a real terrorist will come to the US, he would not have a long scrubby beard and long hair and a black dress.
All Orthodox priests (from Russia, Bulgaria, Serbia or Greece), all these priests have a long beard and long hair.
The Mediterranean cuisine (this means Italy, Greece, Spain….) belongs to the healthiest foods worldwide. This is also the reason, why these people get very old. The people all over the Mediterranean use all the same foodstuff – fish, olive oil, herbs, mutton, beef and a lot of different vegetables and fruits. A lot of Italians, Greeks and Hispanics imigrated to the states plus their foodstuffs and meals. Most important is, to prepare all these meals correct.
My cousin Mary in Beeville, S-TX, she is the fourth generation in the States, our families are still in touch. She told me, the US American cuisine is a mix of different European and Asian cuisines. A couple of times I visited her in S-TX. I realized, also in the States you have different kitchens. For example, much beef and chilli in Texas, in Oregon I remember, mostly I was eating fish, seafood and beer, the German cuisine I found in Ohio and Pennsylvania with roasted pork, potatoes, sauerkraut, dark bread and beer garden and between New York and Boston I ate pizza, spagetti and lasagne every day……nice weekend!

Hi fellows – we all know, Jesus Christ was born in Judea (Holy Land), this is the ancient name of Israel. The first apostles and evangelists had to leave the Holy Land, cause the Roman Empire distroyed it 60 AD. They established the first Christian communities and churches in Turkey, Greece and Egypt. In Italy (former Roman Empire) Christianity was strictly forbidden till 300 AD. The first book of the New Testament – “The Life of Jesus Christ” was written in Greece. This was the first book of the New Testament and it is called “Septuaginta”.
I agree, all over the globe we have bad and good people – Godfearing people and atheists – but we can find them in all Christian countries.
If we look to Greece, especially the older generation are conservative Christians, they go to church even 3-4 times a week, this surprised me. I go to church just on sunday – since my childhood. I was in a convert school, so I know the Holy Bible “a little bit”. But we can be proud to be Christians. Cause Jesus says, we have to be tolerant, even to our enemies, this is our strongest and best weapon! Sometimes we can read the word “fight” or “battle” in the Bible, but Jesus means, the fight against our sins and weakness. If we will win the fight against our sins and mistakes, this is our greatest victory.
In all Christian countries we have good Christians too, in France, Britan, USA, Italy, Greece, Austria, Spain…..and so on.
Most of the Greece citizens go to church every week. I realized, in the States you have a lot of atheists, much more as in Europe. Maybe you can`t believe it, but I belong to the conservative party.
However some of your articles and ideas I agree, but not all…….Look, especially Lord Jesus told us, to be tolerant and peaceful and to live a Godfearing life and he said, we have to be broad-minded! Jesus died on the cross for our sins – that means, we are free! This is the most important meaning or statement of the New Testament of the Holy Bible.

do you believe what you write, or is your whole post a joke? I’ll try to answer your words, from bottom to top – and please forgive me for my bad english.
What the Greeks did in WWII was the first victory against the Axis (Italy invaded Greece in 28th October 1940). Even France lost in a few days the war against the Germans. Greeks won the uneven war alone against Italy for 6-7 months, and when the Germans came we did not lose the war. Greek troops where still having victories against Italy, and the Germans for many weeks, when the second bypassed the front and so the government surrendered.
This was so inspiring for the rest of the nations, because a small country like Greece, gave a lesson to the, until then always victorious Axis. What was more important, is the fact that Hitler’s plan to invade Russia went back, and that gave time to the Commies to prepare for war. Don’t forget that the USA entered the war some years later, and they helped of course a lot the Allies, but they did not defeat them bu themselves (stop watching so many movies and read some history books).
You say that Greeks are not Christians, because of the facial hair and the … robes? They are not robes actually, but cleric clothing. And do you have any idea, how Jesus looked like? So, you are calling Jesus ridiculous??? What kind of serious person would make such comments? If you are talking of “crypto-islam” in the Orthodox people (all around the world), then you really must have come from space. Greece was under the wage of Ottoman’s Islam for aprx. 400 years. Terror and death by the hands of the Turks. Many Greek clerics where standing first in battles against the Turks thru the liberation wars. Concerning your insistence on “boy-touching Greeks”, you have to know that “paederasty” had nothing to do with “gay stuff”. We don’t even know if there was a sexual contact between the young and the elder (we have to know the ancient Greek language to make some sort of safe conclusion – because most of the translations are poor and misleading). Besides, “homosexuality” in ancient Athens (!) was punished by death (according to ancient Athenean laws)! I’d say that ancient Greeks were much less “homosexual” than the “progressive” USA and Europe are today.

Whatnow – Yes, this is history, you are right, the former USSR came from the east and the USA, Britan and France came from the west. The first, who occupited Berlin, the capital city of Germany, were the Russian troops. The US was also in a bad situation, they had 2 enemies, fought against the Japs in the Pacific and against the Germans plus their helpers in Europe. I am soo glad, this time is gone. Whole Europe burned down and was destroyed. The Nazis controlled Europe, they overthrowed all democratic governments in Europe, except Russia, Switzerland and Britan. At first Austria had a democratic chancellor and the Nazis killed him.
Greece was in a very bad situation, the Nazi-German occupited Greece with paratroops. I was born 10 years after this horrific war. In my childhood many people told me about this terrible war. Since the end of WW2 the Germans are ok, The last of this old Nazis died in the 70ies and 80ies.
Greece is a great place for vacations, especially in summer. I really love the beach there
