Mr. Wilcox,
When you compared not liking broccoli to not liking gay people, I couldn't help but have this question arise in my mind: How exactly are you worried about broccoli ruining family values? I mean, this has to have been what you are implying by providing a vegetable as an analogy to homosexuality.

Hopefully this will help you realize that gay marriage, like broccoli, is not trying to break up anyone in a heterosexual marriage. Hell, I know straight people that are trying to stop heterosexual marriage more than most gay people.

Another thing, where are you getting this Charles Manson idea? Last I heard he was in prison, and still scaring the shit out of people - including those who identify as gay. Whom do you know that is still breaking into homes and killing people in his name?

I feel like I'm going to be speaking to a brick wall by even bringing this up, but here goes:
"You well know, sir, that God founded America to spread democracy and the English language throughout the rest of the world. If this isn’t true, then why was the Bible written in English?! (And, parenthetically, thanks to President Bush Iraquis are now beginning to put u’s after q’s the way they’re supposed to. Mission accomplished!)"

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you have NO idea how ethnocentric this statement is. If you sit there and continue to believe that you are right in saying this however, I'll continue to feel sorry for you. How un-fulfilling your life must be to make you think that your culture is superior to others -ones that you probably know nothing about.

Oh and if you're planning to reply with some obscure accusation like I have seen from Shelley the Republican, I'll include the following disclaimers:

No, I am not a Nazi
No, I am not a satanist
Yes, I am baptized
Yes, I do believe in God
No, I do not hate America
And lastly, no, I, as a gay man am not trying to destroy marriage between men and women. Oh and don't bother trying to scare me by saying that I'm doomed to go to hell because of my orientation. I've heard it all before, I'm still gay and I'm pretty sure God still loves me and wouldn't have me change a thing about it. And quite frankly, if heaven is going to be filled with people that have no regard or respect for other people's cultures, I'd rather go to hell. I prefer warm weather anyway.

Well its a good thing that the rapture already happened. It's just that no one really noticed (It didn't even cause a blip on the missing persons stats).

The good news is that Shelly is going to hell too :-)

"You well know, sir, that God founded America to spread democracy and the English language throughout the rest of the world. If this isn’t true, then why was the Bible written in English?!"

For the umpteens time...God didn´t found America...The bible was not written in English, but translated into English....

Denmark, where i´m so fortunate to live, has a way longer history of Christianity than the USA.

The Legend of our flag "Dannebrog", even shows you, that it is far more likely that God Founded Denmark, and NOT America.

The History and Legend
The name of the Danish flag, the Dannebrog, meaning ‘the flag of the Danes’ or ‘the red flag’, is first encountered in a Danish text from 1478 and in a Netherlandish text from 100 years before that.

According to legend, the Dannebrog fell from heaven during a battle in Estonia; this legend is mentioned in Christiern Pedersen’s Danish Chronicle from the beginning of the 1520s and by the Franciscan monk Peder Olsen c. 1527. This latter relates the event to a battle in 1219, and tradition has maintained that the flag appeared at Lyndanisse on 15 June 1219.

This vision of the cross, to which are linked the words in hoc signo vinces (‘under this sign you shall be victorious’) is the prototype of the miracles in the shape of crosses in the sky, which particularly in the Iberian Peninsula were connected with battles between Christians and infidels.

"If this isn’t true, then why was the Bible written in English?!"

from
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bible
"As Hebrew and Greek, the original languages of the Bible,..."

i guess it is written in english so that you understand it... as for me it is written in french...

i guess you wont believe a word of the so-called "liberal" wikipedia... so let's check what conservapedia might say

http://www.conservapedia.com/Bible

"The first translation of the Bible into English was made under the supervision of the English cleric John Wyclif in the 1380's"

"Jerome, a Latin scholar deeply interested in the study of the Scriptures, completed the second edition of the Bible in the Latin language. The Vulgate was meant to replace the inaccuracies of the earlier Vetus Latina, the standard Bible of the early Catholic Church. Jerome had moved to Jerusalem in 382, and set to work on what eventually became a fresh translation of the Bible from the Greek of the Septuagint to translating the New Testament into Latin; from 390-405 he decided to re-translate his Old Testament directly from the Hebrew then in use by the Jewish community. The Vulgate had a marked influence in church history, and remained the standard Latin Bible in the Roman Catholic Church for centuries; such was the length of time in use that it was finally replaced by the Nova Vulgata in 1979. "

Man, english version is 10 century younger...!!

Again, do some research before opening your mouth...
