Jim David Adkisson – Man Of The Year
You may have read recently about STR reader Jim David Adkisson. Jim had a bit of a run-in with the law after he walked into a Tennessee hippy vegan church performing a children’s play of ‘Annie Jr’. At the worst possible moment Jim’s concealed assault rifle accidentally discharged into 22 different church-members. While tragic, the liberal media’s knee-jerk reaction has been to try to say this is a ‘Hate Crime’. But at STR we know to ask the tough questions, and is this what America has sunk to when accidentally discharging an assault rifle in a church filled with women and children is now defined as ‘Hate’? Let’s not be so quick to tar people like Jim David Adkisson with the brush of ‘political correctness’.
Man of the Year: Jim David Atkisson loves America, and knows who to blame for his life’s failures: liberals and anyone different. He is my personal nominee for big Man of the Year.
According to an Associated Press article Jim had been work-challenged for the last 5+ years and “was about to lose his food stamps”. This is precisely how the sick, deviant Liberal mind works: first the leftys’ create a program to give people food stamps, then after the Republicans have carefully privatized these excessive programs, the liberals at the last moment snatch them away. Jim could just taste that delicious, mouth-watering food-stamp pork chop, stolen right from under his nose by the twisted liberal minds hijacking America trying to ‘help’ him. The church Jim shot-up had been involved with a variety of dangerous liberal activities that included women’s and gay rights, political refugees, and had even founded a local chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union. Jim may be an illiterate unemployed truck driver with a restraining order from his ex-wife, but that doesn’t mean he was a violent dumbass: he knew those liberal church hippies were the real enemy. Jim had been carefully trained to watch for this: his library consisted of books by FOX News gurus Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, and “Liberalism is a Mental Disorder” by radio pundit and STR friend Michael Savage.
Food Stamps: This GM pork chop grown on the back of a rat is delicious and nutritious, Jim came home after a hard day of not working just dreaming of these. Only the liberals would be so callous as to cut his food stamps preventing him from having one of these beauties.
Jim is awaiting trial for of all things, Murder One. His anger may have been building for years, and we lost a golden opportunity when we could have easily unleashed Jim’s patriotic wrath on people such as Iran, French Guyana and terrorists in Baghdad. Instead Jim is currently in lock-up awaiting trial on August 5th 2008, supposedly because he’s violent. At STR we are praying for Jim, and hope he makes the best of his indefinite life-time detention or death by lethal injection, whichever comes first.

As for shooting liberals from that church, he didn’t even manage to do that. One man killed was from that church and a few with minor injuries were, but he mainly got a pew of visitors. He shot a Libertarian and his family.
Linda never hurt him or anyone else. She was a sweet loving lady who did very little beyond caring for a 6 year old girl who is now left without her main caretaker. She was also covered with Linda’s blood.

Hi Chuck, you mentioned Michael Savage in your article. This was a funny guy in the late 60ies and 70ies. He was a far left longhaired hippie and pot smoker. Demonstrated against the Vietnam War and so on. He is nearby in my age.

Just reading these comments it’s good to see almost everyone agreeing with me. Granted there are a few who take issue with this, but to me Jim David Adkisson did the right thing.
True, Jim could have gone on to be a different kind of person, one who worked with others to build a more open and transparent society, fairer and more free for all people. He might have even done some really horrible things like join a trade union, organize voters or maybe even run for office. But instead Jim did the right thing: after being repeatedly sacked from jobs, he sat and drank and watched FOX News, becoming increasingly angry and atomized and dysfunctionalized, sitting at home alone, polishing his gun collection. Jim went and took out his frustrations on a church filled with women and children like a good little boy, instead of becoming angry with the wise corporate leaders who make America the wealthiest, richest most wonderful country in all the world.
There are millions of unemployed ‘Jim’s sitting at home in America, filled with anger and rage. Let’s just hope they all do the right thing and take out their rage on those weaker than themselves. After all, the only other option would be to stand up and challenge the wise corporate leaders of a system that is really working swell for them. And none of us want that!

Hi folks – since weeks I follow your heated discussions – for me, I am an Austrian from Vienna and I realized a lot of differences between Russians and North Americans. We were living next to the Iron Curtain and we had many Soviets and many US Americans in this town. (Vienna was an important turntable for KGB and CIA agents)
The mentalities and meanings and political point of views are pretty different between Russians and US people. It seems to me, a kind of Cold War will continue again. Russia and their Army became more powerful again, under Putin.
Both nations have the most powerful militaries on earth. China will become powerful too.
As the Cold War ended, the US Americans got troubles with the Middle East. The enemy changed – now it is the Al Qaida and some leaders in the Islamic World.
Pushkin, your English is very good. Most of the Russians learn French, German, Spanish. English is not very common in Russia. Except those Russians, who like to travel.

Many Russians are very good educated (many US citizens have a poor general knowlegde). There is still a hard compitition between Russia and the States. The Russians and the US Americans are very different. Many US citizens believe, they live in the first and most powerful nation, sometimes they are a bit too overweening. The Russians became strong again and have more self confidence as in the 90ies. The national propaganda in Russia and in the States are so different, unbelieveable different. President Putin gave to his people a new kind of proudness. The soldiers get their monthly salery again.
Christian religion and the Bible are most important in the States – in Russia not. Russia is a strict laicistic nation. In the States, Christianity and politics are closer as in Russia.
In many respects I can understand the Russians much better as the US citizens. On the other hand I like the freedom in the States. The freedom of speech or a free press for instant, this is impossible in Russia. Many journatlists got killed, if they criticized the Russian goverment.
Unfortunatelly the Bush goverment made a lot of bad mistakes. It was too much for Russia, as the States stationed their missiles in Poland and Czech Republic. The States claimed, these rockets in Poland are just a defence against all pariah states, like Iran or Sudan or North Korea.
Russia said, these US missiles near our frontiers are just a provocation. No one of these pariah states are able to shoot their rockets to the States or to Europe. By the way, North Korea is over 10.000 miles off Poland.
In Vienna we have a lot of Russian citizens and US citizens too. Since the 90ies people from the communistic eastblock live in Vienna. I met a couple of Russians, from Moscow, from the Baikal Area, Western Siberia, from Usbekistan….and so on.
The young generation of Russians growed in confidence. The Russian generation in my age and my parents are still subservient.
It was funny to follow this discussion – between East and West. The Russians, especially the younger generation, are proud patriots again.

Between the late 60ies till to the early 80ies I just believed, the States are the Garden of Eden for freedom. The Russians lost their chance in their economy and trade. As the Americans produced their first computers in the 80ies, the Soviets didnt cared about. Much more important was their war in Afghanistan. This was their mistake, they believed, their military is much more important as ecomomy and trade. This was wrong. The Russian language was not important anymore.

I know a lot of nice Russians – it is right, they have a different mentality to people from the States – this has different reasons – the propaganda is different. Russians are convinced – they are citizens of the biggest country on earth – the US believe, they live in the most powerful country.
Life changed in Russia since the Iron Curtain droped – there are some very rich people – but poorness is still very common all over Russia – and people still live in big fear.
The situation in the States is also not very good – since Bush and his war on terror it is no democracy and freedom anymore. You are right, especially in the States they have no freedom of speech any more – but it is a bit better as in Russia.
However, I have seen some punk band names – like Black Flag and the Dead Kennedys – Gun Club and so on…..I am 50 and still remember well to these bands. But I collected these bands from the Westcoast – between 1970 – 1980. During this time I loved all these bands like Grateful Dead, Seatrain, Jefferson Starship and Airplane, Grace Slick, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Hot Tuna, Frank Zappa, The Seeds…..
Punkrock was not by bag – firstly I was a bit too old for that. The punks were crazy young guns, who had not the same philosophy, I was influenced by the peace and love movement much more, which appeared earlier, in the late 60ies in California. I was pretty young at that time, was in highschool, but I loved that kind of sound and their message and the long hair and all this indian stuff. (we had cotton pants, silk shawls, earrings…..)
As Punkrock appeared in Britan the first time at the end of the 70ies, I was over 20 and this was not my thing. But I found some punkbands, who had definitely a great sound – like the Black Flag for instant.
I was a big fan of Petty Smith and Lou Reed for instant – but I don`t count them to punkrock.
Avantgarde was also a nice sound – like the Residenz or Laurie Anderson. For us from Europe, the British and German Rock was much more dominant as American Rock was. But I got a lot of uncommon Westcoast albums too, it was a bit harder to obtain – but it was available in Austria and Germany too. In Amstdam, Netherlands you got nearby all albums from the States also the most uncommon or even rare records or bootlegs.
I still love the heavy guitar sound and the Rhythm-Blues riffs on guitar. I listend also a lot to the Southern Bands – like Allman Brothers, ZZ Top, Johnny Winter, Commander Cody, Charly Daniels Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd…..
Pushkin, why do you think Abbie is gay – I don`t think so, cause these guys a bit different – and leave Sara Carter in peace – she is great!
