Conquering the Drawbacks of Democracy
Friends,
We at ShelleyTheRepublican’s blog are all big fans of Philip Atkinson, one of the smartest guys I know. In addition to busting myths such as the entirely bogus relationship between the so-called “HIV virus” and the disease some liberals refer to as “AIDS”, this Englishman has published some very thoughtful op-eds on the nature of our Presidency.
As a warning to liberals, Professor Atkinson is an enemy of political correctness in all of it’s forms. Some of you may find the common-sense and plain words of this wise man shocking. If you find this article troubling, I suggest you light up another one of your “Jazz Cigarettes”, and go back to your gay-lovers and let real men like Phil Atkinson do the thinking about how best to defend America:
Dear Shelley,
President George W. Bush is the 43rd President of the United States. He was sworn in for a second term on January 20, 2005 after being chosen by the overwhelming majority of citizens in America to be president.
Yet in 2007 he is widely despised, with many citizens of Western civilization expressing contempt for his person and his sensible policies, sentiments which now abound on the Internet. This rage at President Bush is an inevitable result of the system of government demanded by the people, which is “Democracy”.
The inadequacy of Democracy, rule by the majority, is undeniable — for it demands adopting ideas because they are popular, rather than because they are wise. This means that any man chosen to act as an agent of the people is placed in an invidious position: if he commits folly because it is popular, then he will be held responsible for the inevitable result. If he refuses to commit folly, then he will be detested by most citizens because he is frustrating their demands.
When faced with the possible threat that the Iraqis might be amassing terrible weapons that could be used to slay millions of citizens of Western Civilization, President Bush took the only action prudence demanded and the electorate allowed: he conquered Iraq with an army.
This dangerous and expensive act did destroy the Iraqi regime, but left an American army without any clear purpose in a hostile country and subject to attack. If the Army merely returns to its home, then the threat it ended would simply return.
The wisest course would have been for President Bush to use his nuclear weapons to slaughter Iraqis until they complied with his demands, or until they were all dead. Then there would be little risk or expense and no American army would be left exposed. But if he did this, his cowardly electorate would have instantly ended his term of office, if not his freedom or his life.
The simple truth that modern weapons now mean a nation must practice genocide or commit suicide. Israel provides the perfect example. If the Israelis do not raze Iran, the Iranians will fulfill their boast and wipe Israel off the face of the earth. Yet Israel is not popular, and so is denied permission to defend itself. In the same vein, President Bush cannot do what is necessary for the survival of Americans. He cannot use the nation’s powerful weapons. All he can do is try and discover a result that will be popular with Americans.
As there appears to be no sensible result of the invasion of Iraq that will be popular with his countrymen other than retreat, President Bush is reviled; he has become another victim of Democracy.
By elevating popular fancy over truth, Democracy is clearly an enemy of not just truth, but duty and justice, which makes it the worst form of government. President Bush must overcome not just the situation in Iraq, but democratic government.
However, President Bush has a valuable historical example that he could choose to follow.
When the ancient Roman general Julius Caesar was struggling to conquer ancient Gaul, he not only had to defeat the Gauls, but he also had to defeat his political enemies in Rome who would destroy him the moment his tenure as consul (president) ended.
Caesar pacified Gaul by mass slaughter; he then used his successful army to crush all political opposition at home and establish himself as permanent ruler of ancient Rome. This brilliant action not only ended the personal threat to Caesar, but ended the civil chaos that was threatening anarchy in ancient Rome – thus marking the start of the ancient Roman Empire that gave peace and prosperity to the known world.
If President Bush copied Julius Caesar by ordering his army to empty Iraq of Arabs and repopulate the country with Americans, he would achieve immediate results: popularity with his military; enrichment of America by converting an Arabian Iraq into an American Iraq (therefore turning it from a liability to an asset); and boost American prestige while terrifying American enemies.
He could then follow Caesar’s example and use his newfound popularity with the military to wield military power to become the first permanent president of America, and end the civil chaos caused by the continually squabbling Congress and the out-of-control Supreme Court.
President Bush can fail in his duty to himself, his country, and his God, by becoming “ex-president” Bush or he can become “President-for-Life” Bush: the conqueror of Iraq, who brings sense to the Congress and sanity to the Supreme Court. Then who would be able to stop Bush from emulating Augustus Caesar and becoming ruler of the world? For only an America united under one ruler has the power to save humanity from the threat of a new Dark Age wrought by terrorists, homosexuals and atheists armed with nuclear weapons.

Are you f%#king insane?

Okay, he´s a nutter. It´s been proven over and over again thaT AIDS is nothing but the symptoms caused by HIV. So either the guy´s dumber than a leaf of bread or simply too dense to accept that his own opinion i´s wrong. EIther way, he won´t get any more obnoxious and uncredible.
“President George W. Bush is the 43rd President of the United States. He was sworn in for a second term on January 20, 2005 after being chosen by the overwhelming majority of citizens in America to be president.”
Less than 60% are hardly “overwhelming”.
“Yet in 2007 he is widely despised, with many citizens of Western civilization expressing contempt for his person and his sensible policies, sentiments which now abound on the Internet. This rage at President Bush is an inevitable result of the system of government demanded by the people, which is “Democracy”.”
It more likely the result of Georgie being an incompetent, warmongering bastard that caused nothing but problems.
“The inadequacy of Democracy, rule by the majority, is undeniable — for it demands adopting ideas because they are popular, rather than because they are wise. Yet this ensures that there will be no government acting against it´s citicens. This very characteristic of democracy is what´s keeping the USA and other democratic countries from turning towards a dictatorship.
“When faced with the possible threat that the Iraqis might be amassing terrible weapons that could be used to slay millions of citizens of Western Civilization, President Bush took the only action prudence demanded and the electorate allowed: he conquered Iraq with an army.”
Of course said threat was a hoax and even if it had been true, Iraq would not have had the means to deliver said weapons to their targets anyway, a fact that had given the west several DECADES to stop this proliferation without outright war and it´s terrible cost.
“This dangerous and expensive act did destroy the Iraqi regime, but left an American army without any clear purpose in a hostile country and subject to attack. If the Army merely returns to its home, then the threat it ended would simply return.”
No. The most likely outcome would be Iraq going into outright civil war and splitting up into several splinters. None of those would have the ability or the necessity to develope WMD´s.
“The wisest course would have been for President Bush to use his nuclear weapons to slaughter Iraqis until they complied with his demands, or until they were all dead. Then there would be little risk or expense and no American army would be left exposed. But if he did this, his cowardly electorate would have instantly ended his term of office, if not his freedom or his life.”
Outright bullshit fantasy. The offensive use of nuclear arms agaisnt a defenseless foe would have made the USA the paria of the international world and sparked ire from the whole globe as well as a massive increase in terroristic acts against the USA by enraged muslims. In fact, ther ewouldn´t be any moderate muslims of any importance after such an outright barbarous attack on the middle east. And that´s ignoring the devastating imnpact such attacks would have had on both the american and the worldwide economy.
“The simple truth that modern weapons now mean a nation must practice genocide or commit suicide. Israel provides the perfect example. Another pile of bullshit. Quite contrary, any country committing genocide will also be committing suicide, as it will promt the entire international community to come down on siad country and it´s government like the proverbial fist of an angry god.
“As there appears to be no sensible result of the invasion of Iraq that will be popular with his countrymen other than retreat, President Bush is reviled; he has become another victim of Democracy.”
More like a victim of his own incompetence.
“By elevating popular fancy over truth, Democracy is clearly an enemy of not just truth, but duty and justice, which makes it the worst form of government. President Bush must overcome not just the situation in Iraq, but democratic government.”
Yet democracy is the most successful and desirable form of government known to man. The only other choice would be either a tyranny or anarchy, both of which are far worse than democracy. In fact, this paragraph actually marks Mr. Atkinson as nothing else but a traitor.
“Caesar pacified Gaul by mass slaughter; he then used his successful army to crush all political opposition at home and establish himself as permanent ruler of ancient Rome. This brilliant action not only ended the personal threat to Caesar, but ended the civil chaos that was threatening anarchy in ancient Rome – thus marking the start of the ancient Roman Empire that gave peace and prosperity to the known world.”
Wrong on the mass slaughter. He won in an open military battle, not by killing defenseless civilians. ANd of course, trying to compare the USA with ancient ROme fails on so many levels, it´s hilarious that this scumbag Atkinson even tries.
“If President Bush copied Julius Caesar by ordering his army to empty Iraq of Arabs and repopulate the country with Americans, he would achieve immediate results: popularity with his military; enrichment of America by converting an Arabian Iraq into an American Iraq (therefore turning it from a liability to an asset); and boost American prestige while terrifying American enemies.”
The only immediate results would be the army refusing to carry out his olrders and arresting him. Failing that, he would find his USA being quickly becoming the paria of, if not at war with, the whole planet, ultimately sharing the faith of other tyrants that tried stuff like this in modern times. Adolf Hitler comes to mind. (Although the idea of Bush hiding in a bunker and finally putting a bullet into his head has it´s bright sides. ;) )
“He could then follow Caesar’s example and use his newfound popularity with the military to wield military power to become the first permanent president of America, and end the civil chaos caused by the continually squabbling Congress and the out-of-control Supreme Court.”
So this idiot thinks that somehow Georgie can convince the Army to use violence agianst ehir own revolting families and friends in crass ignorance of the oaths they sweared when they enlistened. That is, to protect the country and the constitution, NOT the president. He´d find himself in front of a firing squad before the end of the week if he tried.
“President Bush can fail in his duty to himself, his country, and his God, by becoming “ex-president” Bush or he can become “President-for-Life” Bush: the conqueror of Iraq, who brings sense to the Congress and sanity to the Supreme Court. Then who would be able to stop Bush from emulating Augustus Caesar and becoming ruler of the world? For only an America united under one ruler has the power to save humanity from the threat of a new Dark Age wrought by terrorists, homosexuals and atheists armed with nuclear weapons.”
Who would be able? His own population, his own army, the entire planet fearing him to be the new Hitler. All these come to mind. And if Mr. Atkinson really believes someone wouldn´t nuke Bush´s sorry ass if push came to shove, I really have to laugh about his ignorance of both reality and human nature. (That being siad, the atheist, communist Chinese already have nukes pointed at the USA, and any attempt by Georgie to get them getting rid of those weapons will have said nukes delivered to Washinton D.C. On the tip of an ICBM, of course.)

IMPEACH BUSH!
And imprison Philip Atkinson for being a fucking traitor!
Three Facts
One Presdient Bush did not win by an overwhelming majority,he won only after the closest reelection victory since 1916.
Two Democracy is that what you harp about liberals, atheist, homosexuals, pruprple teletubbie wanting to destroy.
Three the religous right wants to bring us back to the dark age.
Fuck the rapture.
“Then who would be able to stop Bush from emulating Augustus Caesar and becoming ruler of the world? For only an America united under one ruler has the power to save humanity from the threat of a new Dark Age wrought by terrorists, homosexuals and atheists armed with nuclear weapons.”
Long have I dreamed of President-for-Life Bush, and long have I lived in fear of nuclear-armed atheist homosexual terrorists: finally Mr. Atkinson has written an article that neatly brings the two together!
Always Right
Hi – I would have a better idea – sent the CIA to Iran, they have to overthrow this brutal mullah regime. In the past the CIA was successful many times, for instant Afghanistan against the Red Army and they did a good job in Nicaragua, Laos and many more countries all over the globe.
Unfortunatelly the CIA commited a lot of mistakes since 9/11. But before they were great – many times. The US Army in Iran would be too ostentatious, to complex and too slow. Much more important is, the whole world will watch it. But the Intelligences work in secret – they are just a couple of great officers, some from the Special Forces and agents, who could provoke a nationwide demonstration. 1953 in Iran under Mosadeq it worked well – they overthrowed Mosadeq and the Shah came back and ruled this nation till 1978 – as Khomeini turned this nation back again to this bigoted and brutal Mullah Regime.
We have many leaders in history, who worked and ruled like Cesar and killed all his opposition and political enemies. We still have such leaders in Africa – look to Zimabawe – their president Mugabe killed all his political enemies or opposition.
Nice guy!
If we read about Julius Cesar today, who lived 2000 years ago – we can find just good stories about Cesar. Because just Cesar wrote his memories.
If you like history, you will find a lot of leaders, kings and presidents, who worked like Cesar – this was Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, Franko, Ceausescou, Bokassa, Idi Amin, Pol Pot and so on – and so on.
Right now we still have 3 ruthless and cruel leaders like Cesar was. This is Kim Jong in North Korea, Omar al-Bashir in Sudan and Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe and these mullahs in Iran – all these leaders destroy or kill their political opposition and their “enemies”. If these leaders would have the best weapons like the States, they would conquer and opress the whole World.
