In the north of Iraq are the Kurds, in the east the Shiites (supported with weapons from Iran) and in the south and the center are the Sunnits (supported from Syria and Saudi). A lot of different Islamic hate preacher + holy warriors + Al Qaida members + the secret service from different islamic nations + MI6 and CIA and probably FSB agents as well makes this place not even a beautiful place.
In a war-torn nation like Iraq definitely is now, you cannot build up an efficient oil business. It would need years and a lot of foreign aid and companies to rebuild Iraq, until this nation is successful in oil-producing and exporting. First they have to rebuild their infrastructure and it has still no efficient government. A very big problem is, most of the Iraqis dislike the States, they don`t trust the Americans and Brits too.
As the war began, since spring 2003 thousends of innocent natives died. Of course, as Saddam was overthrowed, the people heaved a sigh of relief. On the other hand they are not happy with this terrible sitiuation right now and they can get killed in public easily. Nearby all natives claim, the USA is responsible for this terrible situation right now. They don`t want to trust the US government and the US Army anymore.
This war began with miscalculations and misjudgements and the situation is still confused. Most of the Iraqis are not interested in a look-west policy and all these confusion, aggressions and demonstrations in Iraq arrests the development. It will need a very long time untill they have a stable government and economy again.
