Comment of the week: A Patriot defends Rep. Sally Kern
This week’s featured letter is from Jo from Oklahoma who has written in to address the so-called scandal surrounding Representative Kern, who has been one of that state’s most effective campaigner for Christian values.

Last week the drive-by media set upon Representative Sally Kern because of comments she allegedly made at a private function ? the liberal media claimed that she was a ?hater? and spoke ?irresponsibly? about the homosexuals, but look at what she actually said ? I think you will agree that her words were just common sense:
?Studies show that no society that has totally embraced homosexuality has lasted more than, you know, a few decades. So it’s the death knell of this country. I honestly think it’s the biggest threat our nation has, even more so than terrorism or Islam ? which I think is a big threat, OK? Cause what’s happening now is they are going after, in schools, two-year olds…And this stuff is deadly, and it’s spreading, and it will destroy our young people, it will destroy this nation.”
What’s so wrong about that? She’s just reporting what a number of studies show ? they looked at all the countries where the people totally embraced homosexuality… and look what happened. That’s what happens every time the homos seize power of a country, it always ends the same way. Sally’s just reporting the facts, so why are the liberals getting so het up? They should just read all the studies like Sally obviously has!
Just imagine how strong America would be right now if we had put as much money in to faith-based initiatives that prevent homosexuality as we do to fight the war on terror. That’s one thing that I’m sure John McCain will have high on his agenda ? he’s a Christian just like us.
Thanks for your letter Jo – Once we’ve won the war in Iraq, I’m sure John McCain will spend the peace dividend on preventing all kinds of indecent acts.
The Gays: Would you trust people like this to run America? Just look at what they did to Europe.
A McCain administration will be able to restore Christian decency to America and make our land safe for Christians and Families.

As for Kern’s statement, the pretext and language is childish and na?ɬØve for someone her age. As the response letter demonstrates, she committed a real faux pas in claiming, as a representative of an Oklahoma district, that homosexuality was worse than terrorism. These lines stuck out at me most:
“…you told me that my mother’s killer was a better person than a group of people that are seeking safety and tolerance for themselves.”
LeftTeurn; If Sally Kern says she has seen studies then I do not doubt her for a minute – she is an elected representative and not the sort of person who would make up a casual lie for political gain. Sally is an honest Christian woman so please do not try to judge her by your own amoral standards.

The ancient Greek Empire lasted for about 600 years, and the Roman Empire for more than 2000 years. Both of these empires were no stranger to homosexuality and in many ways were more tolerant of them than most countries are now. If statements like this one represent Republican politicians, their lack of knowledge is shocking.

Actually STR.com proved beyond all doubt where these WMDs are – Saddam gave them to his buddies in Iran. That is why we need to invade Iran ASAP. You are sadly behind the times, my liberal friend.

I wish to ask a question about where in the constitution is says anything about Homosexuality or race?
That’s right. It says nothing and so therefore the Government should have nothing to do with the whole deal. The constitution is very clear about what it says the Governments job is, national defense and to defend people civil liberties. The Declaration of Independence says, “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness”. I honestly think that if someone is happy, they can love whoever they want, and if they end up in hell, that should be no concern of anyone else. My opinion tells me that being a good person, gay, straight, religious, atheist, or any other niche is right and if Heaven exits that is where you will go so long as you don’t harm others, mentally of physically. How exactly do homosexuals harm anybody? Honestly, how does two men or women having sex in a bed room in San Francisco harm someone in Main or Ohio? It doesn’t, there is no conceivable way that it would.
