The “Nano-Effect” : Signs of decay in Eurasia

Dear Friends

The current auto-landscape very much reflects the spirit of the nation who produces the cars. Look at America for example. Proud American brands like Chrysler, General Motors and Ford building cars that are comfortable, big and just make you think: It’s good to be an American!

My former employee Tristan Shuddery once said: “Everything worth owning has been either invented or developed in the USA.” This rings especially true when it comes to cars. Lets take a look at the insignificant rest of the world: They stole a term invented by Apple Inc. which is “Nano” and basically means “Small” or “Tiny” and use it to market their cars! I am talking about the so called “Nano Effect”, the obsession to make everything as small as possible.

smart-forfour.jpg

This is the latest models of the France based “Smart Motor Company”. It will be called “Forfour”. With 22 hp and a top speed of just over 55 Mph this will be their top of the line model. How pathetic!

Why is it that safety and comfort don’t count to Europeans? The simple answer is: They can’t afford it no more! They refused for years to adopt the American business models of free enterprise and therefore their economy is going down the crapper! It also doesn’t help that they let millions of towelheads into their countries that loot the welfare offices.

2008-tata-nano-17.jpg

I admit, the 2008 Tata is a big improvement over…

scooter.jpg

… transporting the family on a “Scooter” …

2008-tata-nano-6.jpg

… But can you imagine driving this “car” from New York to Atlanta with the kids in the backseat? Oh Lord, how good it is to be an American!

Some people say that the German car models we know are not even sold in Germany any more. The average Porsche you know, or the Audi or the Mercedes are only built for the US-market, in Germland however, they have their “Nano-style” models.

nano-porsche-911.jpg

The new Nano-Porsche looks like a lot of fun but how about a crash with a real car? You won’t survive that, even if you have Jesus with you!

Let’s all get down on our knees and thank the Lord and the Leader for keeping the American economy strong and the American spirit vibrant, so we don’t have to suffer the “Nano-effect”. We in America still enjoy all the comfort and luxury we can buy, because God wants us to!

2007-cadillac-escalade.jpg

This is the Goodman family car and this is the car Jesus drives up in Heaven. A 2007 Cadillac Escalade. All-Wheel Drive Starting at $59,390 – 6.2L Vortec V8 VVT with 403hp, Hydra-Matic 6-speed automatic transmission with Driver Shift Control – Full-Time All-Wheel Drive, StabiliTrak electronic stability control system with rollover mitigation, Road-Sensing Suspension, Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist – Bose? 5.1 Cabin Surround? Sound System, tri-zone climate control and more.

With this great car you can do 100 Mph and hit a Smart Car and not even notice it!
God bless America!

Thanks for reading!

people like you make me wonder where the hell the human race is going to

  2. Matt January 18th, 2008 3:35 AM

    You…are…an…idiot…

You do realise that the US is on the verge of recession and that the only reason the housing/credit market hasn’t collapsed is because the government is propping it up with billions of dollars and false promises? It’s ridiculous purchases like this that put pressure on home owners with sub-prime morgages. When will people realise that the cannot infact have it all?

  3. Shelley Goodman January 18th, 2008 5:11 AM

    Matt,
what are you talking about? We are nowhere close to an “recession”. The economy is stronger than ever. I am making more money then ever! Just because some bums are loosing their home don’t mean the economy is bad.

    Goodnight.

    Shelley

  4. jimmygoddard January 18th, 2008 8:35 AM

If you think the economy is bad, that’s because you are down on America and God. Get praying and get spending, and soon you will be all right.

This car by the way is absurd, I do not know anybody who would want this kind of thing. I bet it would get blown off the road when overtaken by a normal sized truck.

I’m sure liberal teens will acquire these miniature death-wagons so that they can go out taking drugs and fornicating. It’s no surprise that the only people who like this are crazed anti-Americans.

“cars that are comfortable, big and just make you think: It?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s good to be an American!”

Cars that are unreliable, big and just make you think “Damn, I don’t want to be the one paying for this sucker’s gas bill”

“They refused for years to adopt the American business models of free enterprise and therefore their economy is going down the crapper!”

    America’s economy<European economy

“keeping the American economy strong ”

You’re on the verge of recession, fuckwit.

“With this great car you can do 100 Mph and hit a Smart Car and not even notice it!”

No, believe me, you’ll fucking notice it.

Most American cars are just big and clumsy…

Why do you think that most American movies mostly feature European cars???

  9. True Christian January 18th, 2008 10:31 AM

And about the European vs American economy….

When we look back someday at the catastrophe that was the Bush administration, we will think of many things: the tragedy of the Iraq war, the shame of Guant?ɬ°namo and Abu Ghraib, the erosion of civil liberties. The damage done to the American economy does not make front-page headlines every day, but the repercussions will be felt beyond the lifetime of anyone reading this page.

I can hear an irritated counterthrust already. The president has not driven the United States into a recession during his almost seven years in office. Unemployment stands at a respectable 4.6 percent. Well, fine. But the other side of the ledger groans with distress: a tax code that has become hideously biased in favor of the rich; a national debt that will probably have grown 70 percent by the time this president leaves Washington; a swelling cascade of mortgage defaults; a record near-$850 billion trade deficit; oil prices that are higher than they have ever been; and a dollar so weak that for an American to buy a cup of coffee in London or Paris?¢‚Ǩ‚Äùor even the Yukon?¢‚Ǩ‚Äùbecomes a venture in high finance.

And it gets worse. After almost seven years of this president, the United States is less prepared than ever to face the future. We have not been educating enough engineers and scientists, people with the skills we will need to compete with China and India. We have not been investing in the kinds of basic research that made us the technological powerhouse of the late 20th century. And although the president now understands?¢‚Ǩ‚Äùor so he says?¢‚Ǩ‚Äùthat we must begin to wean ourselves from oil and coal, we have on his watch become more deeply dependent on both.

Up to now, the conventional wisdom has been that Herbert Hoover, whose policies aggravated the Great Depression, is the odds-on claimant for the mantle ?¢‚Ǩ?ìworst president?¢‚Ǩ¬ù when it comes to stewardship of the American economy. Once Franklin Roosevelt assumed office and reversed Hoover?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s policies, the country began to recover. The economic effects of Bush?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s presidency are more insidious than those of Hoover, harder to reverse, and likely to be longer-lasting.

I agree wholeheartedly True Christian. I’m happy to see at least one other real Christian on this site. I would be surprised if Bush doesn’t go in the books as one of the worst (if not THE worst) president. Sad but true.

    Greetings from liberal Holland,
    Thomas van der Meer

PS. I know it’s not the point you want to make with the above post, but one more major side effect of Bush’ disastrous policies is that we in Europe feel them too. The mortgage crisis took a while to blow overseas, but it seems to start having effects.

  11. True Christian January 18th, 2008 11:09 AM

Hey Thomas, yea it?Ǭ¥s sad that a man so incompetent as Bush is creating the downfall for The USA, and draging Great European countries along….

Hopefully, and i?Ǭ¥m sure of that,… The people of the USA have learned their leson, and with Gods help they will elect a democrat this time…

As the true Christian you are Thomas, i am sure you will pray with me for this to happen… :o)

Well done, Shelley, your article gave me a good laugh. I really do think it’s hilarious you dare to call yourself a Christian, whilst you obviously hate and despise everyone and everything non-American. I thought Christ taught us about loving eachother… Guess you missed that chapter in the Holy Bible. Try reading it again, and this time, wear your specs, love.

I got a Lincoln Town Car and a big pickup truck out in the driveway and as soon as I win the lottery me and Mavis is going to buy ourself a Hummer. If them green people dont like it they can kiss my big fat Texas ass. Pardon my French but thats all she wrote. Praise Jesus!

“The current auto-landscape very much reflects the spirit of the nation who produces the cars. Look at America for example. Proud American brands like Chrysler, General Motors and Ford building cars that are comfortable, big and just make you think: It?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s good to be an American!”

Massive, not overly reliable, downright FAT cars intended for people that like to bragg or have to compensate for something. How…..american.

“My former employee Tristan Shuddery once said: ?¢‚Ǩ?ìEverything worth owning has been either invented or developed in the USA.?¢‚Ǩ¬ù This rings especially true when it comes to cars. Lets take a look at the insignificant rest of the world: They steal a term invented by Apple Inc. which is ?¢‚Ǩ?ìNano?¢‚Ǩ¬ù and basically means ?¢‚Ǩ?ìSmall?¢‚Ǩ¬ù or ?¢‚Ǩ?ìTiny?¢‚Ǩ¬ù and use it to market their cars! I am talking about the so called ?¢‚Ǩ?ìNano Effect?¢‚Ǩ¬ù, the obsession to make everything as small as possible. ”

The term nano was not invented by apple, it was invented by the ancient greek.
PS: So, it?Ǭ¥s not worth for the US Army to own the Abrams?Ǭ¥ 120mm smoothbore gun, eh? Was invented in Germany, after all, the fine little baby. Like many other of your weapons.

“Why is it that safety and comfort don?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t count to Europeans? The simple answer is: They can?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t afford it no more! They refused for years to adopt the American business models of free enterprise and therefore their economy is going down the crapper! It also doesn?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t help that they let millions of towelheads into their countries that loot the welfare offices.”

Let?Ǭ¥s see, my family has 3 cars, almost any family I know has 2, most singles have their own. Yet, we?Ǭ¥re to poor to afford buying cars. Something strikes me as being bullshit here, especially considering, that european cars are often more expensive then us cars of the same size due to higher quality, safety and power.

“Some people say that the German car models we know are not even sold in Germany any more. The average Porsche you know, or the Audi or the Mercedes are only built for the US-market, in Germland however, they have their ?¢‚Ǩ?ìNano-style?¢‚Ǩ¬ù models.”

Blatant lie. They?Ǭ¥re selling exactly the same ones here. The smallest common car you will find on german streets is either a Ford Fiesta or a VW Golf. And the Golf is surprinsingly big for being rated as a small car. (And the GTI version can easily outrace most of those fat american show-off-cars.)

“Let?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s all get down on our knees and thank the Lord and the Leader for keeping the American economy strong and the American spirit vibrant, so we don?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t have to suffer the ?¢‚Ǩ?ìNano-effect?¢‚Ǩ¬ù. We in America still enjoy all the comfort and luxury we can buy, because God wants us to!”

Go on, waste money on unnecessary huge, accident-prone, less reliable, gas guzzling pieces of shit. I?Ǭ¥ll contact you again when the oil price has risen, will be fun to see you bleed.

“With this great car you can do 100 Mph and hit a Smart Car and not even notice it!”

Yeah, you don?Ǭ¥t even notice it because your car just got completely out of control, flipped over and got you unconsciouss. Has happenned on an Autobahn near my house recently, some tourist idiot in a Hummer driving into some kinda Peugeot. The small car?Ǭ¥s passengers all survived, the Hummer lost control, went on the wrong side off the road and frontally hit a 30-ton-truck. One overcompensating US idiot less roaming the streets.

PS: The “Nano” is from India and was made there as a as cheap as posible car for the whole population. It will never drive on german streets, as the engine produces too much bad stuff (bad filtering), it?Ǭ¥s too slow to not be considered a danger to traffic on big streets and it lacks security.

“what are you talking about? We are nowhere close to an ?¢‚Ǩ?ìrecession?¢‚Ǩ¬ù. The economy is stronger than ever. I am making more money then ever! Just because some bums are loosing their home don?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t mean the economy is bad.”

Citybank loosing billions of bucks is not a small affair, the whole banking system is gonna be hit by that. ANd from there, it will spread. Any idiot watching economy news can by now see the storm coming.

Meanwhile the Euro is traded at 1 Euro for 1.46 US dollars. Yehaw, go Europe!

(And we?Ǭ¥re still making a big buck by selling our cars over to the USA, where they still sell in nice quantities, unlike US imported cars here, they?Ǭ¥re almost ignored even by person that could buy them in the dozens.)

“No commie lie-bral tree hugging Al Gore worshipping vegetarian nut case is going to tell Sedgewick P. Hunsaker what kind of car to drive.”

And we never intended to do so. You have the freedom to be as stupid as you like as long as it doesn?Ǭ¥t endanger other people, after all.

    IMPEACH BUSH!

  17. ThatDude January 18th, 2008 3:41 PM

Ok, ok, wait a minute here.

The EU is going down the crapper?

The US economy is stronger than ever?

Free Market Economy is the best there is?

Well, as a matter of fact, for the most part, the US economy is in serious trouble. According to every major network TV station, the gov’t is preparing to announce billions of dollars in aid for US investors. According to USA today, market analysts are calling this latest slump a cue that there may be a “nasty” recession in the offing. Have fun with that.

Up here in Canada, for instance, our dollar is holding strong, although it has dropped in the last few weeks overall. The TSX (Toronto Stock Exchange) relies heavily on US investors, and has been dropping lately, but not nearly at the rate of the NYSE or other US markets.

It’s somewhat fitting, really. The US markets have risen at incredible rates since WWII, increasing rapidly and steadily. It makes sense that you’re going to go out the same way. It’s like the old adage: “Come charging in on a Bull and the Bear will eat you.”

    P.S.
The 6.2L is a horrible engine. It didn’t work with diesels, and it’s working even more poorly for gas engines. Not to mention that oil is $100 a barrel, so unless you win the lottery, you’d better park it.

  18. Shelley Goodman January 18th, 2008 4:26 PM

“Proud” German ( I guess that is code for nazi, is it?),

a “weak” dollar and a “strong” euro is good for America. It means that American products are cheaper and that increases sales and decreases imports from yurop. It’s the best thing that could happen right now..

    Regards,
    Shelley N. Goodman

  19. Thomas January 18th, 2008 4:30 PM

lynn long, you forget one little thing…

Jesus’ sacrifice for us made the OT’s punishments obsolete. That’s the core message of Christianity. You obviously are either too stubborn to comprehend that, or just too indoctrinated.

    Greetings from liberal Holland,
    Thomas van der Meer

  20. JourneyTo Lynn Long January 18th, 2008 4:34 PM

REAL MEN DON’T USE ANOTHER MAN’S NAME ESPECIALLY WHEN THAT MAN IS A MAN WHOSE A BETTER MAN THAT YOU WILL EVER BE.

Why won’t people understand me? The agency won’t send Carlos anymore. He thinks I’m creepy.

  21. Link48010 January 18th, 2008 4:52 PM

Ever seen Pimp my Ride??? I just saw a special episode where they took a Chevy Impalla SS and supped it up. They used a Bio Desiel that produces (after refinement, and the actual use) 80% *less* carbon emissions than normal gas or desiel. What really jawdropped me is that this car had 800 horses and 1400 foot pounds and yet it *still* got 25 miles per gallon highway. This thing smoked a Lambo too. The interior was all mede a hemp too so pretty much the whole car was made green and bad ass. So hows that, by using some simple technology, a 6.6 liter V8 still got better gas milage than your “Escalade” and could out race it any day.

  22. Erik Thordarson January 18th, 2008 5:55 PM

Shelly are you implying Jesus is African American… that’s not a very caucasion vehicle

  23. Thomas January 18th, 2008 6:05 PM

    lynn long,

I didn’t say the OT is not still aplicable. I said we don’t have to endure the OT’s usual punishments anymore (Sacrificing animals, getting stoned to death, etc etc.) because the punishments for all mankind have been taken by Jesus. THAT is the core message, and you know it. That is the problem with you people: You’ve taken the salvation and grace out of the gospel.

    Greetings from liberal Holland,
    Thomas van der Meer

  24. Chris January 18th, 2008 10:21 PM

Oh damn. Everything in your article is wrong!!! Like all the other articles on this page are as well! Good Job Shelley. You know exactly that german cars are one of the best cars in the world. Especially in America people are proud if they can afford a Mercedes, Porsche, Audi or BMW. In Germany it’s absolutely normal to drive them. So much about prosperity!!! And you know the us dollar is very weak at the moment while the Euro is getting stronger!!!!But I guess you have a hard time to ignore this fact like you have a hard time to ignore the rest of the world because you are not able to understand it. By the way driving small cars means that you take more care about your environment because the output of CO2 gets reduced!!! But you don’t care. Did you ever hear Jesus saying: Destroy your environment!! I don’t think so. And also being a racist like you are is absolutely not christian. It is said to LOVE each other not to hate each other. Read it again!!! It’s in the bible the only book you’ve ever heard of!!!!! I’m from Germany and I know the difference between a racist and a patriot. You tell every German that he’s a racist if he’s proud of his country. And you are proud and HATE all other countries. If that’s better and in the sense of christianity, the world is a flat disk, babys come from the stork and american republicans are smart!!!!!!!!
Greetings from Germany! The country where you are allowed to be free!!!!

  25. Thomas January 19th, 2008 7:19 AM

I seem to recall some racists in Germany and they damned sure thought they were patriotic

That’s why it’s to astonishing that you people behave the EXACT same way as the nazi’s and you don’t even realise it..

Hitler consistently denigrated minorities (Jews, Gypsies)
STR consistently denigrates minorities (Muslims, Homosexuals)

Hitler ignored civil liberties (Gestapo, locking people up without trial)
STR ignores civil liberties (You think Guantanamo is a good thing, locking people up without trial)

Hitler ignored the international community (He spit on the UN, ignored Geneva Convention)
STR ignores the international community (You spit on the UN, ignore Geneva Convention)

Hitler thought starting a war would help Germany (WWII)
STR thinks starting wars will help the US (Iraq, Shelley even thinks nuking Iran would be good; well, now that the US hasn’t gotten any safer and the fiscal deficit has almost doubled under Bush, we know it doesn’t help the US..)

Hitler used overly patriotic feelings within society to achieve his foul goals.
STR uses overly patriotic feelings within society to achieve their foul goals.

So basically, you don’t differ much from Hitler. That should make you think. Unfortunately it probably won’t, because of a thing we normal people call willful ignorance.

    Greetings from liberal Holland,
    Thomas van der Meer

  26. Thomas January 19th, 2008 9:53 AM

Then call it the League of Nations – the predecessor of the UN – it doesn’t matter, the point has been made. And as far as you not being part of STR, good for you, but you sure act like you are.

American cars are fucking awesome. I wouldn’t want an Escalade though. It has too much of an association with gangsta rap. I think the new Charger is damn cool. No-car like Mo-par.

  34. Sara Carter October 23rd, 2008 4:35 PM

@Kira hahaha shelley is just like rosie o’donnell no one wants to fuck her.

  35. trueamerican November 8th, 2008 11:51 AM

for a start that is not the smart forfour, that is the tata nano, an Indian car which was a prototype and is no longer being produced. also, cant you see the image of the shrunken porsche you showed was computer generated!
also, it is testament to the trigger happy, brain dead republicans that they cannot even spell (board rather than bored for example) show how uneducated they are.Luckily they are a minority as shown by the recent election.

also, american cars are unreliable, cheaply made with tacky plastics, and have huge gas guzzling engines but most struggle to compete with far smaller European cars. That is why they sell very very few in Europe and why there are a large amount of foreign cars sold in the US (eg Lexus).

Smart cars are a branch of mercedes benz, a german company, not a french one, seriously, get your facts right before you even attempt to write such an article.

im not sure if this blog is a joke by a democrat but i sincerely hope it is because it makes me depressed to think that people like STR exist.

  36. ProudLiberal January 7th, 2009 1:48 AM

The Bible was written in Europe and the Middle East. The only American part is the book of Mormon (assuming you believe that is a part of the bible, of course). So I guess it’s not worth owning?

  37. CJ January 26th, 2009 7:36 PM

You probably cant even afford an Escalade you goddamm redneck hillbily. Go drive your 1995 Ford Windstar.

  38. CJ January 26th, 2009 7:40 PM

If y’all a nice luxury SUV but dont want an escalade after seeing it on this site, I suggest buy an Infiniti QX56. It probably aint approved by these mofos cause its foreign so itll probably piss em off; that right there makes it worth buying.

  39. Forever True May 25th, 2009 12:15 PM

Did you just say the word “Nano” was invented by Apple?
Are you shitting me? Is someone as ignorant as you even in the position to blog about politics? Also, your former employee is mistaken too. Ever hear of the internet? That’s not american made. Neither is the boat, or the wheel, or the mathmatical concept of zero. You’re a stupid, small minded nationalist pig, No better than Hitler.

There’s a world outside of America that will not buy Yank cars because they are gaudy, cumbersome and driven by hillbillys still living in the 50′s.
Get real, start making decent cars that will sell in Europe, and travel outside of America other than to make war for oil.

  42. EuroGuy June 25th, 2010 8:38 PM

hey Shelley : how about the american economy ?

    hahahahahahaha,
