How Vertical are your Values?
One thing we all agree on is that America need more vertical, not horizontal politics. ?Vertical? is the kind of politics that emphasizes our relationship with God, and rather than the ‘horizontal’ rhetoric which merely glorifies the follies of man. The vertical politician looks up to god and asks how may he do God’s will. The Horizontal politician merely looks at mundane world and asks how she can change the situation to her own advantage.

Keep reading STR to find out how Jesus wants you to vote this year. Your vote should be for God – avoid candidates like Ron Paul who tries to avoid talking about his faith in Jesus – put your faith in candidates who are not afraid to call on his name in times of national crisis.
Let me illustrate what I mean by comparing two Presidential candidates: Barrack Hussein Obama is the the man of the moment (at least according to Democrats). Is supporters say that his message is ?inspirational? but what exactly is he inspiring folks to do? Ever respectful, Mike Huckabee has put his finger on exactly what so many Americans find disturbing and wrong in Obama’s secularist, horizontal message:
?I think we also ought to recognize that what Senator Obama has done is to touch at the core of something Americans want,? Huckabee said. ?But, we are so tired of everything being horizontal ? left, right, liberal, conservative, Democrat, Republican. They?re looking for vertical leadership that leads up, not down. He has excited a lot of voters in this country. Let?s pay respect for that. He?s a likable person who has excited people about wanting to vote who have not voted in the past but he’s horizontal and America wants to move beyond that?
See what I mean? Mike is saying that Americans are tired of the politics of man ? where petty rivalries and desires of fallible human beings control our leaders. He’s saying something we all believe ? Americans want to be governed by God.

Jesus died to save you from your evil, black sins: Please do not make this sacrifice for nothing by voting a pro-choice RINO as your candidate. Jesus definitely does not want you to vote for fake Republicans like Rudi or Mitt Romney.
But what does it mean to be ‘vertical’ ? a vertical candidate looks to God and knows that it’s more important to put things right with the LORD than to attend to the mundane aspects of life. A vertical candidate is one who mentions God and the word at every available opportunity. A vertical candidate is not afraid to witness how he will be lead by the holy word of the Bible and will put God above all earthly concerns. A vertical leader knows that the laws of the Holy Bible trump the laws of man, even the Constitution.
Such candidates will most likely be concerned by the same issues that concern God: The right to life, the culture war and the homosexual agenda. This person will be a conviction politician who speaks from the heart.
Compare this with the horizontal politician ? ever the populist he or she will be make any promise no matter how outlandish in order to bring Americans over to their twisted agenda. They will promise almost anything in order to trick voters. Such politicians are likely to dismiss important issues and instead badger on about ‘The Economy’ and other worldly concerns.
So how should you be voting? We at STR think it’s pretty clear: If America squares itself with Jesus then we can be sure that matters such as the economy and the war on terror will simply take care of themselves, or rather God will take care of it for us just like he looked after the Israelites. We should trust in God, not in man and that means voting for policy that glorifies Jesus instead of trying to fix problems that cannot be solved by human hands.
