How happy I was to receive such a sensible and uplifting message in my inbox this morning. How joyous!

We are created to be like the moss. Years ago I was speaking at a college retreat nestled deep in the central valley of California. During one of my early morning times with the Lord I noticed the trunk of a large tree completely blanketed by green moss. And it occurred to me:

AS THE MOSS CLINGS TO
THE TRUNK OF A TREE,
SO GOD HAS CALLED US TO CLING TO HIM.

“You shall fear the Lord your God; you shall serve Him and cling to Him…” (Deuteronomy 10:20, underline mine). All the moss is asked to do, all the moss is able to do is cling to the tree.

“As the waistband clings to the waist of a man,
so I made the whole household of Israel and the
whole household of Judah cling to me…”
Jeremiah 13:11

Cling to God. The job description for every Christian. We are created to be like the moss…

MossMen!”
