"We will miss you, Teri?!"
Miss what? Miss who? But that is beside the point, when did conservatives - the same Ronald Reagan "keep government out of my personal life" republicans - became such intrusive judgmental peeping toms?

On a separate note, my cousin, younger brother and I have started a new blog to help my brother with his poli-sci studies at Tulane University. Our blog is mainly frequented by our own friends and family, all democrats, so it is very one sided. We are looking for some conservatives, independents and dems who don't know us to get on the site and give him another point of view. Though I feel confident in my own political values, I want him to be exposed to a wider range of ideas before solidifying his own political point of view. If anyone would be so kind as to drop in and leave a comment once in awhile, we would return the favor!
Thanks,

unfortunately he passed away last year --- after coming out of his coma. he is from my area. his death was related to his weakness and delayed healing. he did get a chance to spend time with his family and see his kids. something Terry wasn't allowed to do with her family.

My golly! I'm sure y'all must be making fun of me somehow. It's just about the worst thing I can imagine. <i>Dr.</i> Bill Frist took a look at the tape and knew right away that she could have gotten better. Guess the only doctors her husband trusted was witch doctors. She could follow a ballon with her eyes and when her parents asked her if she wanted to die she tried to tell 'em no! She would have gotten better like that firefighter in Buffalo, NY.

I never agree with redneck.... however, this is one case where I agree. Her family was willing to care for her.. the husband could have (should have) released her... but he wanted the freakin money. He got it when he killed her. That's all it boiled down to... he was tired of her upkeep and he was a little short on cash.

To watch her Mother in tears begging to allow her to care for her own child.. and be denied!!?? If her wonderful husband really loved her, he would have agreed to let her Mother take care of her. Yes, it does piss me off. and redneck.... I still think youre an asshole.

terri was a plant, no question about it. she wasn't the person anymore people knew and that for fifteen years. speaking in neurological terms she wasn't human anymore: almost all pyramidal cells were gone and her thalamus was out of function: without it you can't see, you can't understand what you see, you can't have proper emotions and can't act accordingly (and there were plenty more of structures damaged). she was a total loss and euthanasia was justified. people can survive with half a brain but not a) at her age, b) after anoxy with massive loss all over the brain, c) the randomness of the lost cells.
realy, it's not a case your making. without feedback from the body integrated there is no consciousness, emotion and reason, and that's what was wrong with terri. unless you think her immortal soul has all the capacity to make a person function and making the brain useless you have to admit she wasn't an individual anymore

Terri Schiavo suffered severe, irreversible brain damage that left that organ discolored and scarred, shriveled to half its normal size, and damaged in nearly all its regions, including the one responsible for vision, according to an autopsy report released yesterday.
Schiavo's brain damage "was irreversible . . . no amount of treatment or rehabilitation would have reversed" it, said Jon R. Thogmartin, the pathologist in Florida's sixth judicial district who performed the autopsy and announced his findings at a news conference in Largo, Fla.

Rarely do I agree with you Billy Bob but this time I basically agree with you! The establishment media lied about Terri Schaivo being in a "persistive vegetative state"! She was responding to people by moving her eyes and making moaning noises when they spoke to her and asked her questions! I heard a recording of her making those moaning responses to people on The Republic Broadcasting Network www.republicbroadcating.org program, John Stadtmiller's The National Intel Report! The State of Florida assisted her husband in the murder he botched by starving and dehydrating the poor woman to death! That was no "mercy killing",that was murder by neglect! You won't like what I'm about to say though. I consider Governor Jeb Bush and President George W.Bush accessories to the crime when they did NOTHING to stop it! They could have signed Executive Orders forbidding the denial of a feeding tube or water! They could have done something, they have the power but they refused to lift a finger! They're just as guilty as the activist judges!
