"Will the French ever fight for their liberty to eat great food?"

i dont think any reasonable food critics would agree with you there. america is the land of over processed fattening food. i suppose god wanted Americans to be the fattest people in the world? because im sorry to say its true.

im still not sure whether this site is a joke or not. at least there are reasonable people like Atheist God to set the record straight and debunk the ridiculous absurd myths of religion

O.K. TRISTAN, I SEE YOU DID IT AGAIN! YOU TALKED OUT OF YOUR BEHIND LIKE IT'S YOUR JOB. ABOUT H QUARTER POUNDER YOU SAID: The Quarter-Pounder, the standard by which all other burgers are measured. This is traditional American food at it?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ¥s best. But why do the French oppose this tasty nutritious treat? Simply because a ?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ?Pound?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ? is not a French-style metric measurement. Will the French ever fight for their liberty to eat great food? I doubt it.YOU IGNORAMOUS, IT IS NOT A TASTY NUTRITIOUS TREAT! IT IS AN ARTERY CLOGGING BURGER OF ALMOST PURE FAT! THERE OPPOSING IT BECAUSE OF ITS NAME. THEY OPPOSE IT BECAUSE OF WHAT IT IS.

I stand corrected, Liberia also uses the metric system, but only because originated as a USA off-spring where were could dump all our freed slaves, so we wouldn't have to deal with them on their own terms.

Were you aware that other than the United States, there is only one other country in the world that uses Imperial measurements? That country is Myanmar. And did you know that Myanmar is predominantly Buddhist? It's true, in fact only 6% of the population is Christian, which is almost matched by Islam's 4%. Also, Myanmar's government is base on a Military junta, not a pure, wonderful, beautiful, god-loving, god-fearing democracy like that of the United States.

Oh, and by the way, if you were wondering, nowadays all scientific research and related feilds is done in the metric system, Yes, that means NASA builds Space Shuttles using centimeters not inches.

Tristan needs to do some actual research, rather than postulating on pointless drivel such as this. Shelly needs to pull her head out of her ass. And Bo needs to stop copulating with his next of kin and "learn himself a book", so he can get an "edumacation". That's what really makes America great, is our education systems. They're free for any citizen to attend, so long as your not too busy inseminating your sister, mother, and three cousins to attend.

But seriously, metric makes more sense. I work in a pharmacy, and all measurements we need are done in the metric system. All of our compounds are figured in grams, liters, etc. Why? Because, when working with such miniscule amounts, trying to figure (and measure!) .003 milligrams is certainly a lot easier and less time consuming than figuring it's 'Imperial' counterpart (which is roughly 1.05821886 ??ɬ? 10^-7 ounces in scientific notation...). I would personally perfer to use a system more exacting, so that there are fewer errors made.

Just chew that over next time you pick up a perscription. If pharmacies used your "God-given measurements", more likely than not, your prescription would end up being improperly filled, which could result in an overdose, or receiving drug that is not potent enough.

Oh, and btw, I believe I win. You just *try* to argue with my logic on this one.

Tristan J. Shuddery you are a complete blundering idiotic fool.

The metric system is superior and has not only facilitated design and manufacturing but has provided a standard system that economized practically all industrial processes.

Do your research before expounding your views from your posterior.

Bonjour to you all,
Im actually a Brit (gasps! he used a non english word!)
I would just like to point out that the UK (yes uk, not england..the uk is the country, England is just one of the countries that makes it up, kind of like your states)has been using both the metric and imperial systems for years..WITHOUT PROBLEMS!!!

I can order a pound of cheese, OR I can ask for 500grams, ok so one is a little more in mass..but suprisingly people manage to deal with it fine enough. Ok so some of our older people have difficulty getting used to the idea of decimalisation and the use of metric weights and measures, but most realise that it is possible for both systems to rub along ok.#
Here we only use imperial miles for measuring road distances and miles per hour for speed limits, but seeing as our speedos have BOTH imperial and metric dials on them we have no worries about driving in europe..

well other than them driving on the right, and driving badly...but thats a different story.

I love the fact you believe that the measurement system was defined by god...lol
Did you know the american pound is wrong too. over here its known as the "short pound" because it is smaller than the REAL pound.

See another thing you got wrong...Keep up the good work

Which one makes more sense?

The Imperial system:

1 mile = 5,280 feet

1 yard = 36 inches

1 pound = 16 ounces

or...

The Metric system

1 km = 1000 m

1 m = 1000 mm

1 kg = 1000 g

Maybe metric...

Read that NASA article too.

The "imperial system" isn't even a system, it's just a collection of archaic and inaccurate measurement units developed a long long time ago.

I'd rather say "My weight is 680N" than "My weight is 40134547.1 pounds x inches by second squared".
