Briefly Patriotic – Simple Questions
Leave it the liberals to get bent out of shape about asking a simple, straight-forward question like ?Did the Holocaust happen??? Now, I ain?t got no opinion about whether it did or didn?t.? I know that they faked the moon landing so if they wanted to fake something big like that then we know they could do it.? But that ain?t the point.? The point is that liberals think it?s their right to question even the most basic facts from Intelligent Design to whether God exists (which he most certainly does) and everybody oughta just shut up and nod their heads.? But when somebody questions one of their basic facts like ?Did the Holocaust happen? or ?Is AIDS punishment for being gay? well suddenly the world?s full of racists and homophobes.? I wonder what they?re position on double standards is?

You are a hoax. STR presents a deliberate and incompatable conglameration of right-wing stereotypes for reasons known only to itself. The ideas and opinions STR comes up with require in-depth knowledge coupled with ignorance of basic facts.
The worst part about this is that it gives liberals, Europeans, irreligious, etc… the wrong impression about Republicans and religious conservatives in general. It gives the impression the the pro-life movement, the anti homosexual movement, anit-Islamic activism, adherence to traditional family values, etc… are all founded in ignorance. As conservative, I find this stereotype offensive and hurtfull. STR hurts the very people it purports to represent.

On a more serious note, the whole “it didn’t happen” thing is, in my opinion, futile, whatever the subject is. Did the moon landings happenned? I can’t see why not. Of course they could have faked it, but when you see what use we have today of satellites and such, moon landings are, if not useful, at least possible.
Did the holocaust happened? well, there are way more than enough witnesses, and material proof of concentration camps, but I would respect anyone’s opinion to say it didn’t happen, I would just don’t agree with him-and probably don’t speak to him. The “AIDS are gay’s punishment” thing is more difficult to defend but why not, then I would ask about all the non-gay that have AIDS too (sinners, maybe?), the gay who don’t have AIDS (maybe they’re not really gay?) and the children born with it (are they sinners, at this age? are they already gay when they leave their mother’s womb?).
But that’s not the point. The point of this article is to say that minorities (jews, gay, etc..) are always labelling you as “homophobe, nazi” or whatever is in accordance with their personnal history when you criticise them or deny something awful that happenned to them.
But aren’t the people who write this blog absolutly the same?
when you say “there no genocide” jews call you nazi or negationist.
when you say “there was no slavery or segregation” black people call you a racist.
when you say “God punish the gay” the homosexuals will call you an homophobe.
when you say “there wasn’t any moon landing” astronauts call you… I don’t know, they don’t speak loud enough to be heard, but I believe they aren’t pleased with it.
And when you say “God doesn’t exist” the people from STR calls you a filthy atheist sinner who will burn in hell.

If STR is satire or not, unfortunately there are a lot of people (not only, but in great numbers in the u.s.) who think like STR expresses. But fortunately, some of them will be sorted out by evolution because they believe diseases to be punishments, so they won’t protect themselves, believing they can’t be harmed by such things. :p
People who think the bible is fact word by word forget that the bible THEY read is a product of many translations, “corrections”, interpretations etc. etc.
Alas, why are there four gospels, if there is only ONE truth? Think. Now. ;)

Both are good questions though and if we really had freedom of speech in this country for all people not just liberals there wouldn’t be a problem with askinbg them. Perhaps there are. Quite a good chance that there are some, indeed. But arguing against hard evidence like Billy in his holocaust-example is like bashing your head against a wall of solid concrete and hoping that the wall will crumble first. Doubting the Holocaust is sort of silly…But the reasons you give to doubt it, or even deny it, are total crap. Empirical arguments, like that circumstantial non-related moonlanding bullshit, have no value whatsoever because empirical arguments are always crap. And just because (according to you)they could fake it, doesn’t mean they did. Notice that there are/were millions of victims and witnesses, and quite some documents etc that would show there was a Holocaust.

But the essential point is, why religious extremists critisize things for “not proven” but think god for a fact, although the only “proof” is a book written by man and translated from an ancient language. Pretty much double standards I would say…
Me for myself, I am thinking that every religion is right in some things and in others not. But to take all teachings of ancient people who seldom knew that the sun is circling the earth is a little bit unworldly at least.
