Gay marriage is going to destroy this country? I have to disagree with you – I’d have to select one of the following profoundly more impactful issues:
1. A disregard for the concept that religious, idealogical, and cultural diversity is a measure of strength, not a sickness to be eliminated. The founding fathers understood this, but we have forgotten it. The US did sign a treaty which passed with a unanimous vote in senate that states: “the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion”. It also asserts that “that no pretext arising from religious opinions, shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony…” The son of a founding father, signed this treaty as President.
Attempts to make this country a Christian nation go against the desires of the founding fathers and weaken the nation, not strengthen it. The founding fathers understood religious freedom better than many of us today who have grown complacent in an environment of non-persecution. Our diversity and our freedom is our strength. Eliminating diversity is akin to eliminating freedom. We can’t afford to do either.

You’re all too adorable. I love how many people get all worked up about this stuff. I am an out-of-the-closet homosexual woh used to actually work within the church, and my paretns still do. They’re not big fans of my sexuality, but they still see me as a human being who is not out there to destroy the world. But one thing i wonder about the church is this: If some Christians/religions believe that all homosexuals are going to burn in hell, why do they care what we do? Either way, you only have another 80 years to see us beofre you go to heaven and we go to hell. Why invest so much energy into being disghusted by us?
