Whilst I understand the concerns enumerated, I have an even bigger concern. In one word, liberty. I would hope that the comment about only using the knowledge as in service to the gov’t was jokingly made. Who is going to protect from the ever encroaching boot of gov’t? The problems of this world are not solvable by legislating answers. Did you ever hear “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink” before? Coercion is not the answer. The real problem is several generations have been raised in an amoral worldview (even immoral at tiems), with relativist philosphy driving it. And also, situational ethics, atheistic determinism, and behavioural conditioning systems, have all contributed to a lack of absolute values, the values the founders lived by, that are enshrined in the Decalogue.

I know how to hack things and how to use computters so I can protect myself Tristan you are ignorant of all computong ehtics. 1st they teach all kids potentially dangerous knowledge in school should every kid in America be sent to jail. Also it would not be legal for the government to use a church as a moral scale since the state and religion are supposed to be separet also not everyone believes in the church i do but not everyone does also according to therio if all information isnt givin freely we work on the same idea produce the same results when we could have been doing to things also a internet license is unethical because one that means that no one is trust worthry and if you didnt get a license cause of morons like you it would be almost impossible for you to communicate organize your banking info and you probally wouldnt be able to work as anything higher than a peson in a fastfood restraunt you should find out what you are talking about before you start proclaming yourself king and destroying democracy freedom and privacy

Do you know that this idea, in other every area than internet that is not available for public at those times, was practised before. But not in US or in democracies, in USSR and Warsaw Pact countries.

Script Kiddies are the most skilled hackers? I think you need to do a little more research there lady. Knowing a little CSS and HTML doesn’t make you a hacker.

You’re the reason people hate Republicans. I love ‘em, they don’t like the government being the gay little buddy that hovers over your shoulder system that the democrats seem to favor with their “universal healthcare” and “help everyone now” programs. But damn, you suck.

If you don’t like hackers getting into your computer, THEN SECURE IT!

I’ve used computers for many years and to date I have not had any viruses or hackers into any of my systems. I even help administer a WINDOWS server and it too has not been hacked.

Yea Windows sucks and Windows is more likely to be hacked than Linux, all the more reason to use Linux.
