Germany : A long way from God : Soccer Violence
My studies about Germany provoked a lot of responses. Although most of the almost 1000 comments and 500 e-mails are very hateful (a couple of people even threatened so send the German SS-Troops to kill me), but there are still some voices or reason coming out of the so called “Hitlerdeutschland”. Like this one:

first of all, thank you very much for finally telling the truth about Germany. Although I do not agree with you on everything you are basically right. You are one of the few that have the courage to tell it like it is. I want to take this opportunity to point out another aspect of German violence. You might be aware that this year the Germans host the soccer championships. This even has always been very popular in Germany. Even Hitler never failed to attend these events. The beer sales go up 250% during the championship and with it the violence. The hospitals are full with drunken, insured soccer fans; on the streets you see almost every 3rd male and every 5th female with bandages or plasters on their faces. It?s “shameful” as you would say. I am German but I am deeply ashamed of my fellow citizens.

If have researched your said account in the internet and sadly found you to be right in everything you wrote. Germans have a strong tendency towards violence and soccer championships are often used to live fantasies of violence. According to very reliable sources up to 40% of Germans carry dangerous weapons when attending soccer games, ready to strike the opponent anytime. An estimated 65% of all male Germans are injured at least once a year due to fights in the so called “Fussball-Stadion”.

Those folks that almost make a career out of beating others up at soccer matches are called “Hooligans”. Some people say that “Hooligans” originate from the UK, this is wrong. The original name for those folks is “Hugenseppels”, that is German and describes a person that sees violence as some kind of entertainment. For a long period of time the so called “Hugenseppels” dominated Germanys culture to a degree that was frightening, but what is not frightening about Germany?

Friends, I don?t have much hope for Germany. It seems that they are lost, for good. I urge all good Germans (like Peter) to leave the country, maybe even come to America, if you can prove that you would be a contribution to our great Nation.
I am pretty sure that God hates Germany and when the day of justice comes, Germany will pay a serious price for all its sicknesses.

But then again i’am really reliefed he is supported by 3 italian police officers . They should keep up their solid work in germany i think, or even strengthen their force in german cities. Sorry for not being clear. I was comparing your attitude toward English to the attitude of the Hungarians toward Russian. Some Hungarians seemed to be offended when I asked them if they spoke Russian, after trying English, German and French first. You apologize for your “bad” (actually not bad at all) English, and I think that’s a rather common attitude. The PR efforts of the English-speaking countries have succeeded remarkably well.
The reason I brought this up was that I think you’re being unfair to yourself. Learning a second language takes a lot of time and effort, and you’ve done that. In my honest opinion, you should be proud of what you’ve achieved, rather than apologize for not having done the impossible. Anyone who’s worked hard to learn a foreign language understands that you can’t reach the level of a native speaker (maybe with some extremely rare exceptions), and those arrogant bastards who know only English but complain about your occasional mistakes don’t deserve an apology.
