We need to be good stewards of the earth. I think any Christian reading of the Bible would reveal this to be a basic tenet. To deny science (and by science, I mean EVERY SINGLE REPUTABLE scientist that has explored the evidence on global warming) respect is both idiotic and extremely short-sighted.

At least, I can take faith that our author is still a heavy smoker, since should could not possibly have fallen for the link between cancer and tobacco.

Have you got any proofs of carbon dioxide not affecting the atmosphere or global temperature. Have you made yourself or know of any mathemathical models or physical simulations that would prove that the gas is not dangerous. And if you do, are these theories supported by at least 50% of the scientific scene (democratic principles indeed)?

Now if you can’t see the evidence you’re just stupid, which isn’t surprising if you’re a republican. The polar ice cap *is* melting. Just look at the goddamn satellite pictures. You got Katrina and Rita cause of climate change … I thought that would be enough to wake you guys up, but no.

Just to back up what I said, after a mere minute or two, I came across this on the Nasa Daily Image on Google:

For millions of years, Antarctica, the frozen continent at the southern end of the planet, has been encased in a gigantic sheet of ice. Recently, the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) satellite has been taking sensitive measurements of the gravity for the entire Earth, including Antarctica. Recent analysis of GRACE data indicate that the Antarctic ice sheet might have lost enough mass to cause the worlds’ oceans to rise about .05 inches, on the average, from between 2002 and 2005.

Although this may not seem like much, the equivalent amount of water is about 40 trillion gallons, equivalent to the amount of water used by U.S. residents in three months. Uncertainties in the measurement make the mass loss uncertain by about 21 trillion gallons. The iceberg pictured above is a small part of the Antarctic ice sheet. The picture was taken on the Riiser-Larsen ice shelf in December 1995. Future research will likely focus on trying to better understand the data, take more data, predict future trends, and understand possible effects of these trends on the future climate of our entire home planet.

Dear Shelley and Tristan,

I love that you are trying for a better world, but I am so sad that you feel it has to be achieved with intolerance and hatred.

It seems that instead of working together to find solutions, you’re making unfounded proclamations that, dare I generalise, are a diluted form of racism, homophobia, separatism and truly these things lead those of a fanatical bent to commit the crimes against humanity, globally AND ESPECIALLY in your own country.

Unfortunatley, your claims are wholly unsubstantiated, and a minimal amount of effort and research will show you the incontrovertible evidence of the damage global warming is doing.

Instead of stirring up false nonsense, why not use your considerable influence for some real good, and not your self-serving, misinformed goals? Mind you, at least your incendiary blog gets people talking, so here’s a liberal truth-teller seeing some good in the inherently peurile…
